UPDATED: You can’t shame the shameless: Take the fight over Trump’s immigration atrocities to members of Congress

“I did try and fuck her. She was married… I moved on her like a bitch.” “You can do anything. Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.” “[John McCain]’s not a war hero. I like people who weren’t captured.” “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy the country?” “[Kim Jong Un] […]

Trump’s fascist dehumanizing of Mexican criminals paves the way to treating all immigrants inhumanely, calls them “animals” 10 times in one press release

There are a variety of definitions of “dehumanization” but this one is as succinct as I have seen: Dehumanization is the psychological process of demonizing the enemy, making them seem less than human and hence not worthy of humane treatment. This can lead to increased violence, human rights violations, war crimes, and genocide. History is rife with this demonizing of […]

A protest of Pr*sident Donald Trump’s fascist anti-immigrant and anti-refugee Executive Orders at Detroit Metro Airport tonight drew over 2,000 people spread out across two levels of the Macnamara Terminal and completely filling half of the baggage claim area. The permitted protest started at 4:00 p.m. and was slated to end at 6:00 p.m. However, it was well past 6:30 […]

Donald Trump proposes immigration policy that would prevent HIM from immigrating to America

Today, back on his “Look, I can read stiltedly from a teleprompter” pivot, Donald Trump laid out one of the most extreme foreign policy proposals since the Cold War. His new policy – what he calls “extreme vetting” – would force immigrants to take an ideology test to see if they are worthy of being in America. The deep, twisted, […]

Three days to avoid deportation

Three days to avoid deportation

If Congressman Upton can do the right thing, so can Senators Peters and Stabenow People who complain about immigration often say they just want people to come to this country “the right way.” Well, here is a chance to support someone who has done everything he was supposed to and may nonetheless be deported on Christmas Eve. VIDEO: Rick Santorum thinks we have an immigration problem … with LEGAL immigrants (UPDATED)

Rick Santorum’s grandfather came to America in 1923 as an immigrant but that fact does not deter him from thinking that we have a big problem in this country that’s “almost as bad” as illegal immigration. The problem, according to Santorum, is LEGAL immigration. According to Santorum, all those legal immigrants coming into America are taking the jobs meant for […]

Tsarnaev “9/11 Citizen” Anti-Immigrant Angle Debunked

Yup, regular as clockwork, there are already FB memes going around about Boston Marathon massacre bombing suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev becoming a U.S. citizen on 9/11 last year, as if this somehow “proves” a damned thing about immigration policy. Plus, of course, “Muslim” blah blah blah. Of course, the reality is that there are plenty of home-grown pieces of crap of […]

As the national Republicans court immigrant voters with immigration reform, Michigan Republicans work to alienate them

As the national Republicans court immigrant voters with immigration reform, Michigan Republicans work to alienate them

A winning strategy…for Democrats

As national Republicans are working hard to reverse the trend of Hispanic voters leaving their party in droves, Republicans in Michigan seemed bound and determined to do just the opposite. In what is a seemingly never ending push to solve problems that do not exist, Republican state Senator Joe Hune has introduced legislation to bar undocumented immigrants from obtaining any government benefits. There are already laws on the books to prevent this, but that is irrelevant when a good sound bite full of empty symbolism is in the making.

Hune’s justification is nearly comical. Read it and much more after the jump.

Romney advisor on immigration sues Obama administration on new immigration policies

Romney advisor on immigration sues Obama administration on new immigration policies

Oh, yeah, that’ll win ’em over, Mitt

I think it’s time Mitt Romney quit pretending that he’s going to get any sort of appreciable percentage of the Latino vote in November. On top of the already abysmal record on immigration issues that Republicans in general have, Mitt himself has yet to establish himself as a friend to Latinos in any way.

However, this week, a lawsuit being filed by one of his immigration advisors against the Obama administration should just about put the final nail in that particular coffin.

Details after the jump.
