Why Republicans Suck at Twitter Parody

Why Republicans Suck at Twitter Parody

Or “50 Teleprompter Jokes to Amuse Your Boss” A few days ago the Romney campaign created a parody Twitter to mock Bill Clinton’s supposed gaffes. And, of course, it was sad. I’m back, baby!! RT @NKingofDC So it’s starting to look like a three-way race after all: Romney vs. Obama vs. Clinton. bit.ly/L8SbhQ— Bill Clinton (@Bill_Clinton12) June 5, 2012 This […]

Why I’m literally going after the @GOP

Why I’m literally going after the @GOP

Republicans have been getting their news from clowns for years As @LOLGOP, I try to use GOP tactics to mock the GOP and GOP tactics. Basically I’m an enraged, ranting megalomaniac—at least on Twitter. Over 60,000 fine Twitter users follow LOLGOP. That’s more than follow the corporate sponsors of the tea party movement @FreedomWorks and four-times more than a likely […]

The utter lametude of the Romney campaign’s (attempted) slam on President Obama’s first campaign rally

Seriously? That’s all you have?

On Saturday, Romney campaign spokesman Ryan Williams tweeted this:

View from floor during @BarackObama speech. Not the “overflow” crowd he promised tinyurl.com/7fcozsu #not2008anymore twitter.com/RyanGOP/status…— Ryan Williams (@RyanGOP) May 5, 2012

The photo was clearly taken before President Obama’s first campaign rally got underway. The empty section you see on either side of the tunnel coming out onto the main floor was directly behind the media stand so nobody was seated there intentionally. You can see this in the panoramic image my wife, Anne C. Savage, took while she was there. Go fullscreen with the pano and zoom in on the section in question and

When that’s all you have, you are in BIG trouble.

Stop Pretending There Will Be Just One Attempted “Swiftboating” of President Obama

Stop Pretending There Will Be Just One Attempted “Swiftboating” of President Obama

Everyday they Swiftboat this President There’s a lot of hubbub about a new ad featuring conservative Navy SEALs. These purported ex-soldiers claim that President Obama is taking too much credit for the historically brave decision he made to go after bin Laden in Pakistan last year. Think Progress has pointed out that this ad has much in common with the […]

Bill Clinton Roasts Newt Gingrich

Bill Clinton Roasts Newt Gingrich

Newt lost the battle. But his War on Women continues. Today I memorialized the clown car derailment known as the Newt Gingrich campaign. Back in November, I knew Newt had no chance of winning the nomination. But I begged karma to give him the nomination for one reason: I wanted Bill Clinton to get his chance to destroy Newt at […]

In Memoriam: Newt Gingrich for President

In Memoriam: Newt Gingrich for President

How the bane of our political system made Bain Mitt’s Albatross. With the possible exceptions of Grover Norquist, Karl Rove and Roger Ailes, no one man has done more damage to the American political system than Newt Gingrich. But that was back when he was relevant, more than a decade ago. In the last year, Newt’s campaign for President re-imagined […]

Pete Hoekstra pays the price for racism and sexism

Pete Hoekstra pays the price for racism and sexism

Karma’s a hardass, Pete

Pete Hoekstra, the Republican Party’s leading hopeful to defeat Democrat Debbie Stabenow in November is not looking so hopeful these days. Right out of the chute he ran a clearly racist ad during the Superbowl. That was such a catastrophe that he has since scrubbed all mention of it from every corner of the internet he could.

This past week he joined the GOP’s War on Women by calling the Lilly Ledbetter Act — the law forces employers to pay women the same as men for equal work or face a lawsuit — “a nuisance”. Yes, Pete, it’s such a nuisance to pay the ladies the same as men.

All of this is taking its toll on Hoekstra’s campaign. In February, he was down in the polls against Stabenow 53-42%.

Now we find out his campaign donations are down by nearly a third.

How to Use Twitter to Take Down a Monster

How to Use Twitter to Take Down a Monster

It’s almost as if you can’t make millions of dollars spouting tired sexist hate on commercial radio anymore. Here’s the difference between Bill Maher and Rush Limbaugh in case you’ve watched this video and are still wondering. Forget that Maher is funny. Forget that he’s not on commercial television. Forget that he’s partisan out of necessity, not by design. (He […]

Birth Control Extremism is a Gift to Women

Birth Control Extremism is a Gift to Women

If women needing birth control to treat endometriosis makes you think about sex, there are medications for that. There are still at it. They’re still implying Sandra Fluke is a slut. They’re still betraying they have no idea how birth control works. They still think getting a prescription to treat endometriosis is some luxury you’re being “given” at their expense. […]

How to Use Twitter

How to Use Twitter

Please RT! – @RobDelaney Apparently I’ve been waiting my whole life for Twitter. Allen Ginsberg had to roam to streets to see the best minds of his generation destroyed by madness. I do it through a retina display. And politics has been waiting for Twitter, too. Last year, Politico’s Ben Smith recognized last year that Twitter was draining the life from […]

Can We Call Mitt Romney a Liar?

Can We Call Mitt Romney a Liar?

When Mitt lies, Atlas shrugs You know the GOP’s favorite Karl Rove tactic: Take an opponent’s strength and make it his weakness. This is how Vietnam evader George W. Bush beat war hero John Kerry. This is why Sarah Palin, who was vetted as well as a pair of shoes purchased online, says President Obama wasn’t properly vetted. This blurs […]
