Working America is the largest coalition of non-union workers in the country. In fact, although it is a project of the AFL-CIO union membership precludes you from being a Working America member yet their ranks are swelling. This week, my pals at Working America unveiled a new website called FixMyJob.com. The site is simple to use; a series of screens […]Read more ›
And the winner is… the anti-Labor conservatives
For months and months, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has been playing Switzerland on the topic of “Right to Work For Less” (RTWFL) — the Orwellian-named anti-labor union drive — saying “It’s not on my agenda” but never promising to veto RTWFL legislation. He literally used that exact phrase every single time he was asked about it right up until this past week.

You are NOT alone!
As I wrote about back in July, our friends at Working America have launched the “Dear David” campaign where workers, unionized or not, can get answers to their labor and work-related questions.
Well, now you can access the “Dear David” website directly from their widget on Eclectablog. Just click through on the widget at the top of the right sidebar to see answers to questions others have asked or to ask one of your own. The response to their project has been fantastic with nearly 200 questions submitted since it began.

In today’s work environment, it’s often tough to know what your rights are as a worker and it’s even tougher to know where to turn to get answers to those questions.
“Dear David” is intended to change that. Details after the jump.Read more ›

Find out which companies in your area are exporting jobs, laying off workers, endangering workers’ health or involved in cases of violations of workers’ rights. The database contains information […]Read more ›
From my friends at Working America: September 8, 2011 Working America Statement on President Obama’s Jobs Plan The President laid out some proposals tonight that represent a starting point for reversing the devastating jobs crisis that our nation continues to endure. But if we are to truly dig ourselves out of this hole, we have much more work ahead of […]Read more ›

From my friends at Working America: Working America members to hold lawmakers accountable for ignoring jobs crisis. On Thursday August 18th, Working America members and organizers will gather at a “Buyer’s Remorse” booth in Jackson, MI to accept “return” ballots from Michiganders who are disgusted with the broken promises of Rep. Walberg who told voters that he would focus on […]Read more ›
