I know Mark Ouimet is popular in Ann Arbor but when you look at the mounting evidence, I urge you to take a second look at Scio Township Trustee Christine Green (Democrat) if you’re even thinking about voting for Mr. Ouimet.

In Michigan this year, it appears to be the Year of the “Nice Guy” RepublicanTM. We have Rick Snyder running for governor, an Ann Arbor native, and we have Mark Ouimet, a Washtenaw County Commissioner, also from Ann Arbor. They are viewed as “Nice Guys” by many Ann Arbor-area Democrats to the point that many of these Democrats will be splitting their ticket next week to vote for them.
I am not.
Why? Because I have scratched the surface of the campaign’s of both men and found them to be typical Republicans. And if there’s one thing you can say about the Republican Party it’s that they do not let their members go “renegade” and begin working with Democrats once they get into positions of power.…
Mark Ouimet is running for the state House of Representatives in the 52nd District, facing Democrat Christine Green. I have written before about accusations regarding Mark Ouimet’s financial misconduct with regards to tens of thousands of dollars of reimbursements for travel and per diems during his time as Washtenaw County. I have also written about the near slanderous attacks on his behalf against Christine Green in the form of detestable and anonymous robocalls and mailers from the Michigan Republican Party.
This caused me and some others to take a closer look at how Mr. Ouimet is running his campaign. We found some very interesting and rather disturbing claims on his endorsements page.…
The ink hadn’t dried on blog entry about the Christine Green smear campaign being waged by the Michigan Republican Party when I get a FIFTH robocall. At least this time they used a different woman for the robocalls:
The same day came a frightening-looking mailer tying Christine Green and Virg Bernero to Jennifer Granholm and with the same tag line “Vote ‘no’ on Christine Green”.…
Talk to anyone in Ann Arbor about Mark Ouimet and they are sure to tell you that he’s a really “nice guy”. I’ve never met him but I feel certain that he is, indeed, a really nice guy.
But he’s also a politician and he’s also a Republican. So I guess it shouldn’t have surprised me when robocalls started showing up on my answering machine slamming his opponent, Christine Green.

Mark Ouimet, Washtenaw County Commissioner and candidate for the State House in the 52nd District, is being accused of inappropriately collecting tens of thousands of dollars of reimbursements for fees and expenses during his time as Commissioner. In a press release yesterday from the Washtenaw County Democratic Party, the details were revealed:
I have received four robocalls against Christine Green, the Democratic candidate for the 52nd state House district. The robocalls are from a woman who speaks without once saying where she’s from. She does not mention Mark Ouimet, Green’s GOP opponent. There are also literature pieces being mailed into the 52nd district.
I have heard that these robocalls are happening in other areas of the state as well.

“Government spending warning. I wish I had the ability to spend money without worrying how to pay for it like they do in Lansing or Washington.…
Having read numerous blog entries, articles and diaries on Daily Kos about hippy punching and whining prohibitions and bucking up demands I have become convinced and hereby issue this firm directive to all “base” Democrats:
If you do, you will be wasting your vote.
(Bet you didn’t know his middle name was Robinette, did you?)
I’m going to go a bit further and suggest you also do not vote for the following people:
Votes for these men are wasted votes.…
