Nazis, Ku Klux Klanners, and other fascist terrorists, you will NOT scare us and you will NEVER win

One of the big questions of for today’s Americans is “What would you have done when the fascists were rising to power in the run-up to World War II?” We no longer need to ask that question because will now be able to see precisely what we WILL do.

My grandfather knew. He enlisted in the Army and went off to fight Nazis in Germany during the War.

My mother was a feminist activist, an LGBTQ activist, and a civil rights activist.

Now it’s my generation’s turn and I pledge to fight fascism and terrorism in the United States of America with everything I have.

I have a message for the people who attended the so-called “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, VA over the weekend and all of the people who think as they do: I will NOT call you the “Alt-Right”. I will call you what you are. You are Nazis. You are Ku Klux Klanners. You are racists. You are white supremacists. Many of you are terrorist extremists in word, if not in deed. I won’t even use the term “neo-Nazi” because there’s nothing “neo” (new) about you. We’ve seen your loathsome, deplorable, un-American beliefs before. My grandfather tried to kill as many Nazis as he could during the war. Your kind were defeated then and YOU will be defeated now.

The First Amendment protects your execrable spewage. But it also protects mine and I will not be cowed or silenced by your terrorism. I and others will shame you, shun you, and make sure you lose your jobs and job opportunities. We will out you for vile subhumans that you are. You are few and we are many and we will not stop until you crawl back into the sewer from which you slithered and where you belong and the heavy lid that Donald Trump removed is put back in place.

To paraphrase our president, we will rain down non-violent fire and fury on you like the world has never seen.

You will NOT be allowed to terrorize us and you will NOT rise to power in the United States of America.
