Concert raises funds to support Bound Together’s after-school program in Pontiac

by

A great evening’s entertainment for a great cause.

In May, I wrote about a terrific independent after-school program in Pontiac called Bound Together. The program provides tutoring in math, reading and reading comprehension three days a week, followed by a nutritious meal. Every other week, there’s also a one-day art group, filling a void left when the Pontiac schools cut their arts and music programs.

Bound Together is a safe environment where children in grades 1 through 6 can come to learn, to express themselves and to gain confidence that can lead to a better future. Like most organizations of its kind, Bound Together is significantly under-funded and relies heavily on volunteers on contributions.

On Saturday, December 7, you can pitch in — and enjoy an evening of great entertainment in the process. Bound Together is hosting An Evening With Don White to help raise much-needed funds. Don White is a songwriter, singer and folk comedian who shines a light on the human experience through his writing and performing.

The program starts at 7:30 p.m. and costs just $20 per person for general admission. There’s also a VIP ticket for $75 per person that includes reserved seating and an afterglow reception with Don White. The event will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, at the corner of Pike and William streets in Pontiac.

You can get all the details and reserve your tickets HERE.

If you’re at the event, look for me and say hello! This is definitely a cause worth supporting.
