Fox News Twitter account hacked, reports President Obama assassinated

Yeeouch. Fox still hasn’t gained control over it’s Twitter stream as of 9:00 a.m. Monday morning. Check it out:

We wish @joebiden the best of luck as our new President of the United States. In such a time of madness, there’s light at the end of tunnel

BREAKING NEWS: President @BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much. It’s a sad 4th for #america. #obamadead RIP

#ObamaDead, it’s a sad 4th of July. RT to support the late president’s family, and RIP. The shooter will be found

@BarackObama shot twice at a Ross’ restaurant in Iowa while campaigning. RIP Obama, best regards to the Obama family.

@BarackObama has just passed. Nearly 45 minutes ago, he was shot twice in the lower pelvic area and in the neck; shooter unknown. Bled out

@BarackObama has just passed. The President is dead. A sad 4th of July, indeed. President Barack Obama is dead

It started over 7 hours ago with the tweet “Just regained full access to our Twitter and email. Happy 4th”. With it being a holiday in the U.S., they are probably having a hard time getting anyone to answer the phones at Twitter. I mean how do you even call Twitter in the first place…?

BBC reports that a group called Script Kiddies has taken responsibility.

UPDATE: Took until at least noon, almost ten hours, for Fox to wrest control of its Twitter feed back from the hackers who punk’d them. Their reporting on the hacking is HERE.

FoxNews.com alerted the U.S. Secret Service, which is declining public comment. Jeff Misenti, vice president and general manager of Fox News Digital, said FoxNews.com is working with Twitter to address the situation as quickly as possible.

The U.S. Secret Service? Seriously? Get over your bad selves, dudes.
