GOP takes measure of HCR bill. No, I mean LITERALLY.

I’m on so many goddam email lists. Some how I managed to stay on MI-08 Representative Mike Roger’s list. He’s often viewed as a “moderate” Republican but he’s anything but.

This morning, his latest email graced my inbox and in it, he takes measure of H.R. 3962, the House bill to reform health care insurance in this country.

No, I mean he really takes measure of it.

With a ruler.

Speaker Pelosi and House Democrat leaders have announced plans to vote on a massive, 1,990 page, 20-pound health reform bill. Here is what the bill looks like:

Oooo! Scary! Bills that are tall should be FEEEEEEEEEEARRRED!!!

Look! It’s almost 11 INCHES TALL!!! How can it possibly be good? It is TALL and from the Obamacrats so it MUST be eeeeeeeevil!!!

What the heck is it with Republicans and their fear of large bills? Do they honestly think they can enact comprehensive reform of an industry that makes up upwards of 15% of our national economy with just a handful of pages?

Here’s John Boehner doing a similar photo-op sans the ruler:

And Rep. Steve Scalise from Louisiana:

Yes, that right thar is some seriously frightening legislation. You can just tell.

‘Cause it’s tall.

Whatevs.

I’m just sayin’…
