Wait, this is just as bad as his business approach…

The media, helped along by the Obama campaign, has spent considerable time recently looking at Mitt Romney’s past as a businessman and top dog at Bain Capital. With the release of a devastating new video this morning titled “Broken Promises: Romney’s Massachusetts Record”, it appears they are turning their attention to his past as the governor of Massachusetts.

It’s not pretty.

Michigan Republicans: Making an art form out of pandering to the stupid.

Last year, the Michigan Republicans raised taxes on over half of the residents of Michigan. In fact, the tax increase was an average 23% according to a report by the Michigan League for Human Services (pdf).

Yesterday, they reached an agreement to lower personal income taxes. By how much?

0.1%

They raised taxes by 23% now they are cutting them by one-tenth of a percent. Just another example among many of Republican FAKE CONCESSIONS.

For-profit government? I don’t think so.

Earlier this week, Newark, New Jersey mayor Cory Booker responded to an Obama campaign ad pointing out that Mitt Romney is running on his experience as a business person and explaining what that, in fact, means. He called the ad “nauseating” and “a distraction”. President Obama responded eloquently.

Astonishing

I find myself using the word “astonished” or “astonishing” a LOT lately when it comes to Michigan politics. My level of cynicism seems to be rising exponentially as each week passes when I see the outrageous and egregious things that Republicans are doing in our state.

But this might take the cake.

Remember this? Most people don’t, at least not correctly.

Most people probably remember George W. Bush swooping down out of the sky in a fighter jet and alighting onto the deck of the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier to give a rousing war speech under a gigantic “Mission Accomplished” banner.

You probably remember that the USS Lincoln was in the Persian Gulf at the time and our “Wartime President” was there to celebrate the liberation of Iraq. Right?

Wrong.
