Meta Tuesday morning – Beer with Bloggers update and stuff

Back in the saddle again…

Regular readers may have noticed that blogging has been light for the past few days. Both of my kids graduated from college this past weekend so Saturday morning found us at the Cleveland Institute of Music watching Arleigh graduate from graduate school (she’s a bassoonist.)

Then it was off to Ithaca, New York to watch Cameron graduate with an undergraduate degree in film making from Ithaca College…

Beer With Bloggers event – 7-9 pm Thursday, May 31 – Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti

Getting to knooo-ooow you, getting to know all abooo-uuut you…

Super, uber blogger Mark Maynard of the legendary MarkMaynard.com in Ypsilanti (and beyond) is resurrecting an event he used to hold semi-regularly called “Beer With Bloggers”. It’s a chance for us, the men and women behind the html code, to hang out with the folks that read our words and look at our photos and other artwork, answer your questions, and get drunk. Mark tells me the last time he did this (over two years ago), he had 90 people show up.

The next Beer With Bloggers event is Thursday, May 31 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti and YOU are invited.

Details are after the jump.

First, thanks to everyone who contributed to our 2nd Quarter fundraising drive. We are so appreciative and gratified by both the donations and the many very nice comments.

Without further ado, here are our winners…

Day 7 – Second quarter fundraiser — grand finale

Thank you for your support. Hint. Hint. Today is the final day of our quarterly fundraiser and the last time we’ll ask you to pitch in a bit to support the work we do — for a while. As I pointed out before, I was an Eclectablog supporter before I became a contributor. And if you’ve been debating about whether […]

Day 3: Second quarter fundraising drive – Why LOLGOP supports Eclectablog

Day 3: Second quarter fundraising drive – Why LOLGOP supports Eclectablog

Piss off a Republican. Support bold progressives. Before I started writing for Eclectablog, I contributed a little cash to the effort. Why? Even though we are in an election season where a variety of local, state and national candidates need our support, I see what Eclectablog as an essential progressive voice for three reasons: 1. Chris Savage has gills that […]

Pardon our dust…

Hiccup! We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced accessing the blog this afternoon. LOLGOP’s post about Rick Santorum hit the front page of Reddit and crashed the server we were on. We have bitten the bullet and upgraded to an account that should prevent something like that from happening again and should result in a peppier Eclectablog in […]

Ring the drums! Bang the bells! It is with great enthusiasm, pride and excitement that, for the first time since I started Eclectablog, I am bringing on another writer. And this isn’t just any writer. This is the genius behind the Twitter phenomenon LOLGOP.
