There is a lot of talk about the inevitable, impending Democratic Blue Wave coming to America this November. I have news for you, it’s not going to happen.
It’s not going to happen, that is, unless everyone — not just long-time Democratic Party volunteers and not just political newcomers like Indivisible groups and other members of the #Resistance — links arms and work hard to drown out the votes of those who rally behind messages of hate and fear and nationalism and racism and misogyny and bigotry. And that means we need to be getting out our message as coherently and effectively as possible.
I understand that many folks don’t identify as Democrats. Frankly, that’s fine. What matters most now is that we all understand who our opponents are and do everything in our power to make sure they are defeated. It is the only way we’ll every be able to start putting our country in the right direction once again.
If we all the pull the rope in the same direction, we WILL be a Blue Wave. But we can’t sit on the sidelines, not this year.
Here at Eclectablog, both through The GOTMFV Show podcast and on the blog itself, we aim to “turn words into votes”. We give you the information you need along with analysis of what it all means, all to help you be a more effective activist. In return, we come to you a few times a year and ask you to support our work with a small financial contribution. Today is the last day of our summer fundraiser that helps us pay the bills to keep the site and pod up and running and to pay all of our writers for their work. It’s not secret that paying bloggers is a rarity in the blogosphere but that’s how we roll at Eclectablog.
You can use the handy PayPal form at the top of the right sidebar to make a one-time donation via Paypal in the amount of your choice. Second, you can send a check (which avoids Paypal taking out a percentage of your donation) to Chris Savage, P.O. Box 32, Dexter, MI 48130. Please make the check payable to “Eclectablog”.
If you simply aren’t able to make a donation of any kind (and we appreciate support at ALL levels), please continue to share our posts throughout all of your social media platforms to ensure that the hard work of our most excellent staff is seen by as many folks as possible.
Thanks for all YOU do!
