C’mon, you know you want to …

… make a donation to Eclectablog and feel good about yourself.

Yeah, I know, it’s a cheap way to get your attention. But now that you’re here, I’ll cut right to the chase.

You are a reader of Eclectablog, maybe every day or just every once in a while. But the point is, you are here. You’re reading these words, and chances are you’ll read the words of my fellow members of Team Eclectablog in the weeks and months to come, because we all have a unique point of view. We all have something to offer, whatever your interests may be.

We write about politics, healthcare, public policy, environmental causes, education, social justice, good people and bad. We write about local, state, national and international issues. Heck, sometimes we even write about sex.

The point is, there is something at Eclectablog for everyone. And Chris Savage, our fearless leader, doesn’t expect his contributors to do something for nothing. He pays every one of his writers for their contributions. That’s something many blogs can’t say — even national blogs with a lot more advertisers than we have here.

Which is why the contributions of readers are essential to continuing the work we do here. And it doesn’t have to cost you much.

Maybe you only have six dollars to give right now, or maybe you can give six dollars a month over the course of a year. (I mean, that’s what the Scrabble tiles say, right?)

Or maybe you can give more. Whatever amount you can donate will make a difference. There are three ways you can help financially.

First, you can make your donation using the PayPal form at the top of the right sidebar. You can choose which level of support you wish to give us from the dropdown box or choose a different level if you wish by using the “Other amount” box. The default is $60 which is basically $1 per week after the fees are taken out, a pretty good value. (There’s that number six again.)

Or you can wait until the TinyPass pop-up pops up (every tenth click on the site) and donate that way. If you do that, the popups will go away as long as you have cookies enabled. Like with the Paypal form, the default amounts for annual or monthly donations can be adjusted to whatever you wish them to be. They are currently set to be around $1 per week. Again, it’s a great value.

Finally, if you would prefer to send a check, send Chris an email and I’ll give you the address. This is the most beneficial way for us because it avoids the Paypal and Tinypass fees that are taken from contributions to the site.

If you work for an organization that would like to support our efforts by placing an ad, click HERE for our ad rates and more information.

By the way, you don’t have to be an organization to run an ad. Maybe you’d like to surprise your favorite progressive with a birthday message on Eclectablog or help promote your favorite group. Again, click HERE for more info.

If you cannot afford to support us financially, there are a couple of other ways that you can still help.

First, you can do you Amazon shopping through the Eclectablog page. Use the search box toward the top of the right sidebar to start your shopping. You can search for products directly from that box or click the “View more products on” link to go to the main Amazon page. If you order via that link, we get 4-6% of the cost of your purchase and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Second, please share our content on your Facebook page or other social media like Twitter, Reddit, etc. Put a “Like” on our Facebook page and click the “Invite friends” button and encourage your friends to like us, too.

Thanks so much for your continued support,
Amy, Chris, Anne, LOLGOP, Tony, Emma, Judy, John, and Charles
