Marriage equality coming soon to a state near you…errr…us: OHIO!

by

Now let’s just call it “marriage”

THIS is fantastic news:

Federal Judge Timothy Black says he will issue a ruling April 14 striking down Ohio’s gay marriage ban passed by voters in 2004. Attorney Al Gerhardstein, representing plaintiffs in a lawsuit about birth certificates, amended his request to ask Black to declare all aspects of Ohio’s gay marriage ban unconstitutional. In federal court Friday morning, the judge said he would do that.

Like in Michigan, this case started out as a same-sex couple adoption issue. In this case, three lesbian couples sued the state of Ohio to force them to list both parents on their children’s birth certificates.

Also like Michigan, Ohio’s Republican Attorney General Mike DeWine will waste Ohio taxpayer money and appeal the ruling.

If you’d like to sign the petition urging Michigan Governor Rick Snyder to stop wasting taxpayer money and order his attorney general to drop his appeal in the suit filed by April DeBoer here in our own state, click HERE
