SAVE THE DATE: Valentine Dinner/Fundraiser for marriage equality in Michigan – Feb. 13, 2014 in Livonia

Share the Love

Late last year, Anne and I traveled to the home of Jayne Rowse and April DeBoer, a same-sex couple with adopted children who find themselves at the center of a fierce legal battle over marriage equality and adoption rights for same-sex couples in our state. During the course of that fundraiser, I spoke to the attorneys who are representing April and Jayne and learned that they need to raise between a half million and three quarters of a million dollars to pay for the expert witnesses and other legal costs associated with a legal case this momentous. While Eclectablog readers were generous and did help raise several thousand dollars, there is still a long way to go.
