This Saturday at the Mich Dems convention the Justice Caucus presents “Citizens United v. FEC” panel

There’s more than just a battle for the Chair on Saturday

This Saturday, February 23 at the Michigan Democratic Party statewide convention at Cobo Hall, the Justice Caucus is presenting a terrific panel titled “Citizens United v. FEC – The Invisible ‘Person’ in Michigan Elections”.

The program will include a short film “THE Story of Citizens United v. FEC” followed by a panel with:

  • Rich Robinson, Executive Director of the Michigan Campaign Finance Network who will talk about “Dark Money in Michigan Supreme Court Elections”.
  • Jocelyn Benson, Author, Dean of the Wayne State University Law School and former candidate for Michigan Secretary of State who will speak on “The Michigan Transparency Coalition and Disclosure Laws”.
  • Jeff Irwin, State Representative from Ann Arbor who will cover “A Legislative Agenda for Reform”.

WHEN: 10:00 a.m. until noon

The discussion panel will be followed by a presentation by Mark Totten, former prosecutor and professor at the MSU College of Law titled “An Attorney General for US — Holding Attorney General Bill Schuette Accountable”.

The Justice Caucus is one of the premier and most active progressive caucuses in the Michigan Democratic Party. This is sure to be one of the positive highlights of the day. Word has it they’ll be serving PURE MICHIGAN WATER absolutely free ; )
