Mitt Romney’s campaign appears to be run by third grade brats

by

Stop it. Adults are trying to run for president.

[NOTE: this post has been updated HERE.]

Late last month, Mitt Romney sent staffers to disrupt an Obama campaign event where David Axelrod appeared and had them shout, scream, and (I’m not kidding about this) blow bubbles to interrupt Axelrod’s speech.

Here’s a vivid illustration of just how badly Mitt Romney wants to avoid any discussion of his record as governor of Massachusetts: he sent his campaign aides to shout down speakers at a press conference organized by the Obama campaign to discuss Romney’s governorship. Romney aides and supporters repeatedly shouted, screamed, and even blew bubbles and vuvezelas in an effort to disrupt the press conference, which was held in Boston.

Obama campaign senior strategist David Axelrod, who was the featured speaker at the event, told the Romney aides that their efforts to drown out discussion of Mitt Romney’s record as governor would not succeed. “You can shout down speakers,” he said. “But it’s hard to Etch A Sketch the truth away.”

This childish behavior is an embarrassment to our country and (I know this from personal experience) makes us look like complete children to the rest of the world. It’s like a class full of spoiled brats getting their way by bullying everyone around them.

In other words, just another day for Mitt Romney.

He even admitted he sent them there (H/T @Zoocritter on Twitter):

Today, they are at it again. Zeke Miller from Buzzfeed reports that a Romney campaign bus is circling around the event arena where President Obama is scheduled to host a campaign rally today in Cleveland, OH, blowing its horn and trying to disrupt things.

They were still at it 20 minutes later:

The Romney campaign has seriously jumped the shark. Knowing damn well he can’t compete with President Obama on ideas and vision, Romney has been reduced to schoolyard bullying and pranks.

It’s pathetic and sad and completely unworthy of someone who claims he can run our entire country.

I’m disgusted. We all should be. When President Obama is called “The Only Adult in the Room”, this is exactly why.

Mitt Romney: unworthy and pathetic.
