Detroit News’ Nolan Finley: You can’t even watch a little soft-core porn without an Obama commercial

by

Detroit News’ blatherer Nolan Finley outdid his normal degree of insipidity today with an editorial piece titled “Hollywood ramps up to help Obama”.

I was watching an episode of “Hung,” the filmed-in-Detroit HBO series about a guy with a super big — well, the story line isn’t important — when all of a sudden an Obama campaign commercial broke out.

Tanya, the hapless female pimp, was telling Ray, the teacher turned prostitute, he’s like “poor people who say they’re Republican and vote against their own self interest.” […]

It’s a sorry state when you can’t even watch a little soft porn on the cable without getting your brain washed.

I’m tempted to just offer that without comment since it’s such a lame and pathetic reach from evidence to conclusion. How he gets from a jab at Republicans in general to “that’s an Obama campaign commercial” is perplexing. He goes on in the piece to suggest this terrific show “Hung” that he watches is clearly an Obama campaign piece because it is premised on a teacher who becomes a gigolo because the conservatives have forced him into it.

No, seriously. I’m not kidding.

Most of his piece is about how Hollywood is pro-Democrat and you basically can’t get a job in Hollywood if you are a conservative. Which, you know, if freaking hilarious when you consider the success of actors and directors like Mel Gibson (may his career rest in peace), actors like Fred Thompson (may his political career rest in peace), or Arnold Schwartzenegger or Chuck Norris or Steven Baldwin or Charleton Heston or James Woods or … well, you get the picture.

I’m sure we’ll someday get a companion piece from Finley that discusses the utter domination of the radio talk show world by Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck and Mark Levin and … well, you get the picture.

Right, Nolan?
