Clean Water Action in Ann Arbor & E. Lansing hosts 1st Volunteer Action night 7/13/2011

by

My good friends at Clean Water Action (CWA) are hosting their first weekly “Wednesday Volunteer Activist Night” this week on Wednesday, June 13 (tomorrow). There are locations in both Ann Arbor and East Lansing. Details below.

As someone who spent some time at these weekly events, I can tell firsthand that these are some of the most awesome activists you’re likely to meet. Lots of energy, lots of smiles and lots of hard work. Not only that, they have made organizing skills and tools that make these evenings very rewarding.

Please consider attending if you are in the area.

We’re now just one day away from kicking off the first installment our weekly Wednesday Volunteer Activist nights. Tomorrow evening, you can look forward to an overview from yours truly about all the campaigns that CWA is working on and the ways that you can help move those campaigns forward. We’ll also be writing letters to the editor and making a couple calls to our senators. And, as if that weren’t enough, we’ll also have snacks, light refreshments, and the company of your fellow volunteers to sustain us.

Time:
6:00-8:00, Wednesday July 13, 2011
Locations:
Ann Arbor – 320 Miller, Suite 180
E. Lansing – 1200 Michigan Ave., Suite C

This is the first of many volunteer activist nights, so we will be dedicating somewhat more time than usual to explaining the structure and function of the volunteer program. If you are planning on being a part of the program in the weeks and months to come, I encourage you to attend this first activist night and get the full rundown. Please RSVP either by visiting our Facebook page. Because we are buying food for this event, having an accurate number of attendees will ensure that there’s enough to go around.

If you absolutely cannot make it tomorrow, there are a still a multitude of ways to get involved, and I would love to discuss them with you. Whatever motivates you or whatever your specific talents are, we can tailor your volunteer role around them. Please send me an email or give me a call to discuss the best ways to get involved. In East Lansing, contact Sarah Mullkoff (contact information below.)

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Thanks for all that you do,
