Congressman Andy Harris gets his sweet, sweet government-run healthcare

by

Remember Andy Harris? He’s the freshman Congressman from Maryland that complained bitterly during an orientation meeting about having to wait for his government-subsidized health insurance.

A conservative Maryland physician elected to Congress on an anti-Obamacare platform surprised fellow freshmen at a Monday orientation session by demanding to know why his government-subsidized health care plan takes a month to kick in.

Republican Andy Harris…reacted incredulously when informed that federal law mandated that his government-subsidized health care policy would take effect on Feb. 1 – 28 days after his Jan. 3rd swearing-in.

“He stood up and asked the two ladies who were answering questions why it had to take so long, what he would do without 28 days of health care,” said a congressional staffer who saw the exchange.

“Harris then asked if he could purchase insurance from the government to cover the gap,” added the aide, who was struck by the similarity to Harris’s request and the public option he denounced as a gateway to socialized medicine.

I wrote to him this morning on his webpage today to congratulate him because today is a VERY BIG DAY for Andy Harris: he got his governmentrunsocialisthealthcare today! Yay!

Here’s what I wrote:

I just wanted to be among the first to congratulate you for (finally) getting your government-run healthcare! You must be so relieved. Fortunately for your constituents, Democrats will not allow people like you to take away the gains that have been made to ensure that ALL Americans have the same access to affordable health insurance. I’m hoping that your new coverage also provides mental health services so that you are able to receive treatment for your debilitating hypocrisy on this issue.

I suggest you contact him as well. You can call his office at (202) 225-5311or email him at his contact page. You can use 21804-9311 as the Zip +4 zip code (Salisbury, MD).

Congratulations, Congressman Harris, you hypocritical piece of crap.

You can UPrate this at Reddit HERE.

Also, someone else sent Rep. Harris an email:

Way to sock it to them! Thanks for going to Washington to repeal the healthcare law, too. I’m glad they didn’t take away yours though, because it would have been tough on you If you didn’t have it! I’m glad that people in your position are entitled to healthcare. It helps my wife to battle her cancer to know that you have health care. Take care!

Brilliant!

I’m just sayin’…
