Rachel Maddow up for Television Critics Award – Atta girl!!!

I’m so proud.

I’ve been a BIG fan of Rachel Maddow since she started on Air America. She’s a class act. My most popular blog ever was about her. One of my blog entries was linked on the Maddow Blog. I listen to her podcast every morning on my drive to work and she’s eclipsed Keith Olbermann in my opinion.

Now, once again, she’s up for a Television Critics Association Award in the category of “Outstanding Achievement in News and Information”.

Outstanding Achievement in News and Information
1. “30 for 30” (ESPN)
2. “America: The Story of Us” (History Channel)
3. “Life” (Discovery Channel)
4. “The Daily Show” (Comedy Central)
5. “The Rachel Maddow Show” (MSNBC)

Like last year, her show is the only cable news show in the running. In 2009, she lost out to HBO’s “The Alzheimer Project”.

I’m just going to say right here and now that Rachel Maddow is the best journalist on television today. She ably fills the shoes of Bill Moyers, in my opinion, without being a carbon copy or imitator. She’s got her own style, her own brand and she’s doing journalism right in a time when nobody else seems to be.

Well done, Rachel, and best of luck. We’re all pulling for you!

I’m just sayin’…
