Daughter-Proud

by

This is my EclectaDaughter, Arleigh. Arleigh Savage She graduates from Michigan State University in a few weeks with a degree in bassoon performance. We had the absolute joyful pleasure of attending her senior recital this past weekend. Below are two pieces from the recital. Arleigh is a remarkable kid. She managed to pay for the vast majority of her undergraduate degree with scholarships and grants and got good grades while progressing so amazingly far as a musician. Next fall she will attend graduate school at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music. She’s cheerful, smart, caring and beautiful. I’m very, very proud of her. Here are two pieces she played. Enjoy.

Nocturne – Danse pour basson et piano [This is a dreamy and somewhat avant garde piece. The non-traditional melody makes it more difficult to play, at least so I imagine ;) ]

Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano (Bebop cantabile, Lament, and Rondo con brio) [This one is a trio and is much more upbeat and traditional than the previous one.]
