Thank you for sharing the responsibility of making Eclectablog what is it: Accountable and transparent…what a concept!

by

During the periodic times of year that Eclectablog asks for your financial support, I always find it an affirmation to the vision and incredible hard work of Chris Savage and the entire staff at Eclectablog, including and maybe especially Anne Savage, who is very much an unsung hero of this critical and important news source. Her dedication, creativity, point of view, and support of us all is done quietly, but is ever present. I can only imagine how crucial her support of Chris must be on a daily basis, as she continues to pursue and expand her amazing career as a very gifted professional photographer. Maybe her name isn’t as prominent and public as some of the staff, but her contributions to the overall importance of Eclectablog is untold and part of the great strength and backbone that we all share as staffers for Eclectablog.

Let me also be clear that Chris does NOT require us to write these small appeals for fundraising that allows Eclectablog to stay sound, available, and on the cutting edge of news, both front page news and discoveries that rarely find space in the mainstream media. I, for one, am blessed that I can place my name as a member of this movement that is called Eclectablog and as Chris shared some of the handwritten notes that he receives it is clear that his vision for Eclectablog tapped into a real and sincere effort of people who want the truth and want change and are not afraid to admit that we need each other to make this country work for us all.

Chris_Savage01There has been controversy, clarity, activism, truth, and maybe a bit of both day dreaming and harsh reality. It is the formula that makes Eclectablog uniquely what it is: Honest, bold and real.

We do love what we do here and are empowered by your financial and emotional support. Even when we disagree we know that this community has allowed that not because it’s some kind of formulaic magic that works, but because Eclectablog doesn’t hide nor does it believe it is infallible, as regular readers know. What we all do here, both the staff and the readers, is make news what it should be: transparent and accountable, and toward that end, your contribution will keep it that way for many years to come. With the 2016 election engulfing us and with the amazing staff that Chris has assembled, I know you all agree that now is the time to send a message through your financial support that you believe the truth and access to the stories we provide are critical to taking back a country, a state and our communities. Thanks for your consideration but most importantly thanks for reading and sharing what we do here. Eclectablog does make a difference and the difference is you!

For those groups and individuals who find what we do here at Eclectablog worthy of supporting with a direct financial contribution, there are three ways to help.

Anne_Savage_head-257x300First, you can make your donation using the PayPal form at the top of the right sidebar. You can choose which level of support you wish to give us from the dropdown box or choose a different level if you wish by using the “Other amount” box. The default is $60 which is basically $1 per week after the fees are taken out, a pretty good value.

Or you can wait until the TinyPass pop-up pops up (every tenth click on the site) and donate that way. If you do that, the popups will go away as long as you have cookies enabled. Like with the Paypal form, the default amounts for annual or monthly donations can be adjusted to whatever you wish them to be. They are currently set to be around $1 per week. Again, it’s a great value.

Finally, if you would prefer to send a check, send Chris an email and he’ll give you the address. This is the most beneficial way for us because it avoids the Paypal and Tinypass fees that are taken from contributions to the site.

If you work for an organization that would like to support our efforts by placing an ad, click HERE for our ad rates and more information.

By the way, you don’t have to be an organization to run an ad. Maybe you’d like to surprise your favorite progressive with a birthday message on Eclectablog or help promote your favorite group. Again, click HERE for more info.

If you cannot afford to support us financially, there are other ways that you can still help.

For instance, please share our content on your Facebook page or other social media like Twitter, Reddit, etc. Put a “Like” on our Facebook page and click the “Invite friends” button and encourage your friends to like us, too.

Thanks so much for your continued support,
Chris, Anne, Amy, LOLGOP, Tony, Emma, John, Judy, and Sommer
