Disciplinary committee votes to recommend expulsion of both Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat

by

After several days of testimony, the “Select Committee to Examine the Qualifications of Representatives Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser” voted to expel both Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser. The two Democrats on the Committee voted “pass” since they wished to hear additional testimony in an effort to establish whether or not House Republican leadership knew about the wrongdoing by the two philaderers/liars long before the information was made public. In response to comments relating to this by Democrat Frank Liberati, Republicans on the Committee expressed their dismay saying they were offended by his remarks.

While it’s true the Committee’s task was focused on Gamrat and Courser, it’s clear that Republicans are circling the wagons to protect Speaker Cotter and you can be sure that there will be no additional hearings to find out what he and his staff knew and when they knew it. The fact that, yesterday, they removed testimony from Cotter’s former Chief of staff Norm Saari from the official record tells you all you need to know about that.

The matter now goes to the full House with the Committee’s recommendation that they be expelled. A two-thirds majority is needed to expel them.
