This image was taken by Anne at Mitt and Ann Romney’s campaign stop in Holland, Michigan last week (our write-up with photos HERE.)

    Representative Price, I’m a member of your district and I wanted to take a moment to ask you to raise your voice in asking Representative Bolger to step down. His actions this past May are embarrassing to Michiganders of all stripes, and to have him continue to lead the Republican Party sets a dangerous precedent.

    Rep. Bolger has openly admitted that he committed the actions he is accused of, but he continues to defend himself by saying that what he did isn’t illegal. For starters, it should be — and I would like to encourage you to take the time to work to make sure this never happens again. Beyond that, though, it’s important to recognize that just because something is not illegal it does not mean that it is right, and by allowing Rep. Bolger to continue serving as the Speaker of the House, we send the message that it is OK for our elected officials to skirt the law for their own personal or political gain and ignore the consequences. Actions like Rep. Bolger’s diminish the faith that people have in their elected officials, and the longer he is allowed to serve as Speaker, the more that trust is impacted.

    Please, show us that you have the interests of your constituents at heart in your service, and speak out against Rep. Bolger’s reprehensible actions.
