Day 4 – First quarter fundraising drive

by

Now you’re making me blush

First, a big thanks to everyone who has made a donation this week. The support is so very much appreciated.

In addition to the financial donations I have been getting, I have received so truly touching emails and comments. I got one yesterday that I would like to share with you.

I’ve been reading your blog for about a year now. You totally rock!! I would love to donate but my credit card is maxed-out (surprise! surprise!) and my husband doesn’t feel safe making such transactions on the internet. I really don’t either. Anyway, I would really like to help you out and send SOMETHING. I guarantee it won’t be much–No 5 million dollar check like Gringrich got–but I’d like to chip in a few bucks. Please send the address and I’ll send a check via the wonderful “snail mail.” I do whatever I can to support the US post office.

Please oh please keep doing the wonderful work you are doing. I live over on the west side of the state in a little podunk town where most people are more concerned with “American Idol” or other ridiculous reality shows than what is going on in their own state. Their own lives! Their own futures! The media doesn’t adequately cover what’s going on so I really look to you. I’m glad I heard about your blog on TRMS [The Rachel Maddow Show] and “The Ed Show.” Thanks ever so much!

That’s the kind of thing that keeps me writing.

If you’d like to support what I do here, if you find it valuable to get information you can get nowhere else (like my story this morning on water contamination issues in Pontiac under a privatized company), you can do so by dropping a few dollars in my tip jar:

Another option is to run an ad on Eclectablog. If you are part of a progressive group or a business looking for exposure to a progressive audience, ads start at $65 only per month. The Dan del Zoppo ad was a gift from Dan’s son. Maybe you and some of your friends want to pool your donations and take out a banner ad for your favorite group or organization. It doesn’t have to be an ad, either. Put up a favorite quote or saying. Use your imagination.

If you are interested in running an ad, use the email link under my logo to request more information about advertising on Eclectablog.

Once again, thank you so much to all of you for your continued support.
