Brokeback Texan

I realize you have probably seen this all over the innernetz and I apologize. However, I am contractually obligated as a progressive liberal blogger to have it on my blog.

I give you: Rick Perry, Brokeback Texan.

Yes, the jacket Rick Perry wore in his anti-gay, homophobic, anti-Obama campaign ad was the exact same one as Heath Ledger wore in his role as gay cowboy Ennis Del Mar.

And, with that, kids, we have a wrap.

Rick Perry’s homophobic anti-Obama video is overwhelmingly DISLIKED

By now, you’ve probably seen or at least heard about Rick Perry’s latest ad called “Strong”. In the ad, Perry accuses President Obama of waging a “War on Religion”.

If you haven’t seen it, here it is:

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.

As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.

Nah-nah, nah, nah. Hey, hey, hey. Goo-oodbye, Mr. Cain

Later, dude.

Herman Cain, a little known businessman who became a frontrunner in the Republican presidential race, suspended his campaign Saturday following allegations of an extramarital affair and claims of sexual harassment.

You have to wonder if THIS didn’t have a little something to do with it.

On Thursday, Cain provided new details on his relationship with White, including the revelation that his wife had no knowledge of what he called a friendship dating back years and his financial help for the woman.

Gloria Cain “did not know that we were friends until she (White) came out with this story” on Monday, Cain said, later adding: “My wife did not know about it, and that was the revelation.

I’m sorry, Rick Perry who?

Na na na na. Na na na na. Hey, hey, hey. Goooo-ooood-bye.

These are easily 52 of the most painful seconds in politics I have ever witnessed. I detest Rick Perry and I still felt sorry for the guy. My twitter feed was full of “OMG” and “Oh, dude…” comments for a solid 2 minutes when this happened.

Mr. Drillheredrillnowdomesticenergyrightunderourfeet couldn’t remember that he wants to eliminate the federal Department of Energy.

Oops.

I guess I should feel sorta happy that I was there to witness the end of the Perry campaign on national television. The fact that it happened here in Michigan is a deliciously sweet cherry on top of an otherwise delicious political moment.…

Mitt Romney and Rick Perry both loved them some individual mandate before they hated it

The group Protect Your Care issued a statement today that reminds me of why I love liberals so much.

Statement on Rick Perry’s Letter Praising Hillary Clinton on Health Care in 1994
August 31, 2011
For Immediate Release
Contact: Eddie Vale – [email protected]

In response to Governor Rick Perry’s health care letter to then First Lady Hillary Clinton Protect Your Care Communications Director Eddie Vale issued the following statement:

As we have discussed many times before, the individual responsibility provision is a common sense, free-market idea. It was developed by the Heritage Foundation and has had bipartisan support in the past including Governors Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman.

Rick Perry repeats an urban legend, is an idiot

Dude, you’re running for president for Godess’s sake. Get your damn facts straight, willya???

I was at the Iowa State Fair today and caught Rick Perry’s speech. He started talking about this stupid new regulation that would require farmers to get commercial drivers licenses if they drive their tractors across the road. I remember reading about this very issue … so I yelled “That’s not true” a couple of times … and later asked the Des Moines Register’s political editor to fact check the story.

Dumb ass.

Secession-supporting Texas governor asks for federal aid

Mr. Secessionist himself, Texas Governor Rick Perry is asking for federal help:

Gov. Rick Perry has appealed to President Barack Obama to declare the state a major disaster area as wildfires strike or threaten all but two of the state’s 254 counties…

A “major disaster declaration” would make the state eligible for help in responding to and recovering from the emergency.

Of course, they should receive the help they are asking for. That’s what the federal government is here for, in part. But isn’t it ironic that a man who thinks secession is something that Texas should consider is now holding out his hand to the Federal government in his time of need.…
