I’m verklempt

This is one of the most beautiful expressions of love I have ever seen.

After 5 years together, what better way to tell our story than to have it told by some of those who played a large role in it.

I secretly recorded Mike’s reaction while he watched the video, which I presented to him as part of the whole proposal. I then placed the picture-in-picture video of his reaction in the corner, so that people could see his reactions in real-time. This was not done via Skype :)

Last Saturday, the band Garbage had a concert in Detroit. Two of the concert goers were Scott Sauter and Domenick Viviano. The two had flown to California in the past to a benefit show for a friend of the band named Wally who was very sick, something that clearly impressed lead singer Shirley Mason. How impressed?

Don’t you DARE call it “ping pong”

When Anne and I get together with her family, especially her brother Tom and his wife, we inevitably end up playing some ping pong. The version of this game that we play deserves to be called “ping pong” because when I play it, I look like a ding dong.

This video is a collection of ten of the best table tennis shots from 2012. I personally think these guys are superhuman or something. It’s incredible.

Inspirational Margaret Harris: 106 years old and voting for Barack Obama

“Red, White and Blue, Going Forward!”

This is a remarkable video. Margaret Harris was born in 1906 and has 88 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She’s only voted once in her life, back in 1928. But she is motivated to vote again this year and, when she does, it will be to reelect President Barack Obama.

Someday in America THIS will be possible – lesbians get engaged on the ice at NHL game

Now THAT is adorable

So, so cool:

On Saturday night at Scotiabank Place, a Toronto Maple Leafs fan named Alicia stood on the ice during the second intermission wearing a blindfold. When it was removed, she looked up at the video scoreboard and read a message from her girlfriend, an Ottawa Senators fan named Christina.

Schmaltzy music played. Out walked Christina. They embraced and had a brief conversation, as the crowd began to wise up to what was about to happen.

Christina dropped to one knee while holding Alicia’s hand. The fans roared. She slid the engagement ring on, they shared a kiss and the Senators mascot proudly raised a sign that read “SHE SAID YES.” Just another night at the rink, eh?

Kidnapped girl rescued by pride of lions. Seriously.

THIS is absolutely incredible.

A 12-year-old girl who was abducted and beaten by men trying to force her into a marriage was found being guarded by three lions who apparently had chased off her captors, a policeman said Tuesday.

The girl, missing for a week, had been taken by seven men who wanted to force her to marry one of them, said Sgt. Wondimu Wedajo, speaking by telephone from the provincial capital of Bita Genet, about 350 miles southwest of Addis Ababa.

She was beaten repeatedly before she was found June 9 by police and relatives on the outskirts of Bita Genet, Wondimu said.
