Mich. Governor directs AG to intervene against HIMSELF!

As I wrote yesterday, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, also a Republican candidate for governor, has joined in a lawsuit with 12 other state Attorneys General that contends the health insurance reform LAW is unconstitutional.

This has made Governor Michigan Jennifer Granholm very unhappy. So, in her capacity as governor, she has directed Cox to intervene on behalf of the state against the lawsuit he himself signed on to.

This is beautiful.

“I certainly do not question your authority or even your obligation when specifically authorized under MCL 14.28 to intervene in litigation in your capacity as Attorney General and to vigorously advocate those positions you believe are most consistent with the constitution and laws of this state.…

Michigan AG joins lawsuit against health insurance reform LAW

Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is joining 12 other state Attorneys General across the country in a suit claiming the new federal health-care reform LAW is unconstitutional. (Let’s none of us forget that this is now a LAW and was signed by the president who is a Constitutional lawyer.)

I guess Mr. Cox feels Michigan has money to burn. Given that a majority (8) of Michigan’s 15 members of Congress voted for the bill, he’s moving forward against the will of the people represented by that majority.

I called his office earlier today to register my complaint and they are being slammed by calls.…

Will a Tea Partier ensure a Dem Michigan governor?

The Democratic gubernatorial race in Michigan right now is a bit of a clown show. The front runner, Lt. Governor John Cherry has left the race. A former state Treasurer got in and out in less than a week. Even George Perles, former Mich.State Univ. football coach has been suggested as a candidate. Right now the mayor of Lansing Virg Bernero, two state Reps, Alma Wheeler-Smith and Speaker of the House Andy Dillon, and Genesee County treasurer Dan Kildee are all in.

The GOP is putting up a number of candidates in including Pete Hoekstra, Rick Snyder and AG Mike Cox (yes, that’s really his name.)

But now comes Tea Partier Stacey Mathia.…
