Michele Bachmann accuses President Obama of treason: “He lifts up the agenda of Islamic jihad at every turn”

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was recently on the Washington Watch radio show with conservative bigot Tony Perkins. During the show, Perkins asked her if there was anything about her job as a member of Congress that had surprised her. In the lead up to her answer, she talked about her role on the House Intelligence Committee (I know, I know) […]

Texas Republican Steve Stockman: Violence Against Women Act is wrong because it helps liberals & “change gendered” people

When you’re giving Michele Bachmann a run for her money, you’re definitely going off of the rails on the Crazy Train This past week, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann attempted to solidify her position as the “Craziest Person in Congress” with not one, not two, but THREE different comments. First, she was chased down a hallway by a CNN reporter trying to […]

Michigan Sen. Colbeck introduces “patriotism” bills modeled after bill pushed by Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann

Michigan Sen. Colbeck introduces “patriotism” bills modeled after bill pushed by Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann

Draped in a flag, carrying a cross

With all of the struggles Michigan faces right now, it’s good to know that things aren’t so bad that religious zealots and “patriots” like Senator Patrick Colbeck have time to worry about censorship in the teaching of American History in our classrooms. This week, Colbeck introduced a bill to remedy this egregious (and essentially nonexistent) problem. The bill is modeled after legislation promoted and passed in 2001 by far-right conservative and tea party goddess Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota. Bachmann’s bill copies a law passed in North Carolina in 1997.

Details after the jump.

Michele Bachmann introduces legislation to repeal Affordable Care Act for the 34th time

Thirty-fourth time’s a charm?

Republicans have been trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act since it was passed. The last time was in July 2012. That was the 33rd attempt.

Today, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann introduced legislation to try it again for the 34th time.

More idiocracy after the fold.

Michele Bachmann to Bully New District

Michele Bachmann to Bully New District

Did you know Members of Congress aren’t required to live in their districts? If you’ve read any of the Gospels or see any of the two fine Broadway musicals about Jesus, you’ve noticed the sort of folk Jesus associates with: outcasts. Prostitutes, tax collectors. Saul who became St. Paul persecuted the disciples before he became one of the most important […]

Nah-nah, nah, nah. Hey, hey, hey. Goo-oodbye, Mr. Cain

Later, dude. You have to wonder if THIS didn’t have a little something to do with it. On Thursday, Cain provided new details on his relationship with White, including the […]

Michele Bachmann thinks Americans are afraid of (Russian) ghosts – the tea party worship of ignorance

Michele Bachmann apparently does not realize there actually is no such thing as the Soviet Union any more. She thinks Americans are afraid of it, though. I would say it’s a unified message. It really is about jobs and the economy. That doesn’t mean people haven’t [sic] forgotten about protecting life and marriage and the sanctity of the family. People […]

Michele Bachmann is the gift that has only begun giving

Liar, liar, pants on fire. On her victory lap of Iowa yesterday, Straw Poll winner Rep. Michele Bachmann paid repeated tribute to her local roots, and repeatedly mentioned her family reunion that day, citing it as an excuse for her late arrival at a local party event in Waterloo. But Bachmann’s mother and two cousins told POLITICO’s Emily Schultheis that […]

Ron Paul should demand a recount

Whoa, that was close. Michele Bachmann has been named the winner of the Iowa straw poll, taking 4,823 votes out of nearly 17,000 cast. Ron Paul was a close runner-up, taking 4,671 votes and trailing Bachmann by less than 200 ballots. In a distant third place was former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who took 2,293 votes after investing heavily in […]

How Republicans view their female candidates

You have to hand it to the Republicans. Only they could take a Good Thing like encouraging more women candidates, even in the top races (like for president), and turn it into an argument about which beauty queen is the brainiest. Rep. Michele Bachmann’s prospective 2012 campaign appears increasingly set on a collision course with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. […]
