Most people probably remember George W. Bush swooping down out of the sky in a fighter jet and alighting onto the deck of the USS Lincoln aircraft carrier to give a rousing war speech under a gigantic “Mission Accomplished” banner.
You probably remember that the USS Lincoln was in the Persian Gulf at the time and our “Wartime President” was there to celebrate the liberation of Iraq. Right?

Yesterday should have been Mitt Romney’s day.
He’d won Illinois handily. And then he received the endorsement from Gallant to George W.’s Goofus—Jeb Bush. Then, you know: the Etch A Sketch thing.
Comic John Fugelsang asked Romney advisor Eric Fehrnstrom if Mitt had moved too far to right. Fehrnstrom then compared his boss to to a device that constantly erases itself. This was a flub, a real Washington gaffe in that someone accidentally told the truth.

Terry Jones, the Quran-burning nutjob is in Michigan news this weekend. Go read about it elsewhere if you want to know why, I won’t dignify the idiot by reporting on it here. However, this caught my eye.
