Last Day: Fourth Quarter Fundraiser – We’re sort of like street performers on the internet. With progressive politics.

Will blog for change. You know the scene: you walk by a street performer and something about them makes you stop. Something about their playing is compelling enough to get you to pause your life and listen, even if only for a half a song. Maybe you drop some change or some folding money into their guitar case or tip […]

Day 6 – Fourth Quarter Fundraiser – We are a community with a voice

One big happy One of the most gratifying things about Eclectablog for me is how many of you are regular readers and, in your own ways, contributors. For example, in the past six months, Eclectablog has had over 625,000 visits from about 445,000 visitors. That means many of you are regular visitors, checking in once a day, once a week, […]

Day 5 – Fourth Quarter Fundraiser: Wow, have we come a long way or what?!

A little blog that grew up I first started blogging at a site called Modblog. It was more of a blogging community than anything and I met some friends there that I still stay in touch with today. That was in 2003, right before the Bush/Kerry election, and the site was called “I’m just sayin’”. I probably had 50 people […]

Day 4: Fourth Quarter fundraiser – Conservative groups fund bloggers. Liberal groups? Not so much.

Day 4: Fourth Quarter fundraiser – Conservative groups fund bloggers. Liberal groups? Not so much.

Please feed the bloggers One thing that I’ve learned over the years is that conservative blogosphere is a pretty lucrative gig if you have even a modicum of talent. Corporatist groups actually pay people to go online not only to blog but to do all sorts of nefarious things like downvoting liberal posts and comments on sites like Reddit, give […]

Day 1: Fourth Quarter fundraiser – We’re all in this together

Eclectablog is made possible with the support of readers like you. Over the past year or so, the pervasive power of corporatists in our society has really hit home for me. Corporate interests have so much money, so many resources, and have created such an effective network to put their personal, self-serving, profit-maximizing stamp on our policies and laws that […]

Last day – Third Quarter fundraiser – We’re all in this together

Over the past six months, the pervasive power of corporatists in our society has really hit home for me. Corporate interests have so much money, so many resources, and have created such an effective network to put their personal, self-serving, profit-maximizing stamp on our policies and laws that the rest of us seem, at times, to have little if any […]

Day 5 – Third Quarter fundraiser – Money, money, money

Day 5 – Third Quarter fundraiser – Money, money, money

This hurts me more than it hurts you… I’ll admit it: I HATE begging my readers for money. I live a pretty simple lifestyle with no expensive boats or vacation homes. We don’t travel much outside of work because we can’t afford it. But I do work hard. And so do the other contributors at Eclectablog. We’re trying to build […]

Day 3 – Third Quarter Fundraiser – Looking back at what we’ve accomplished

Day 3 – Third Quarter Fundraiser – Looking back at what we’ve accomplished

It’s been a busy quarter! Hi, folks. We’re back again, asking for your support. I thought it might be useful to look back at some of what we brought to you since our last fundraiser in April. Here are some of the highlights: An interview with Michigan Teacher of the Year Gary Abud about being exploited by corporatist, anti-teacher groups […]

Day 1 – Third Quarter Fundraiser

Day 1 – Third Quarter Fundraiser

Hi, folks. It’s that time of year when we come to you begging for all your moneys. Well, not ALL your moneys. Just the amount you think it’s worth paying to have the Eclectablog team bringing you terrific content, much of which you literally cannot find anywhere else. You’ll notice some recent changes to our blog with regards to advertising […]

Last Day! – Second Quarter fundraiser — some photos for your trouble

Last Day! – Second Quarter fundraiser — some photos for your trouble

There’s still lots of room in the tip jar

Today is the last day of our Second Quarter fundraiser. I, for one, and happy about that, mainly because I hate begging you for money. But these are necessary to help pay for all of the things that we spend our time and money on over the year. For example, this year we’ll be heading back to the Netroots Nation conference for a week which is in California this year.

If you’d like to donate, you can use the Paypal widget after the jump, putting in what ever amount you wish and even making it a recurring donation if you’d like. If you’d rather send a check, send me an email (click HERE) and I’ll provide you with my mailing address.

As a reward for putting up with the fundraiser this quarter, there are some photos by my wife Anne C. Savage if you click through. Her photos are the primary reason that this site looks as good as it does. Enjoy.

Day 6 – Second Quarter Fundraiser — Your Support Is What Matters

Day 6 – Second Quarter Fundraiser — Your Support Is What Matters

Don’t make me execute you to prove how pro-life I am. The only thing worse than abortion is birth control. I’m sick of big government letting the gays marry the people they love. I’m going to deport you from this country I want to secede from. I’m afraid of the government registering my guns so I’m registering myself in a gun owners organization.

Conservatives are so good at repeating each other that they never listen to themselves.

Here at Eclectablog, we do a lot of listening and do our best to use the far right’s words and actions against them in our ongoing mission to save and — one day — grow the middle class.

But nothing we do matters if we don’t have your support. Everything you can do — sharing on Facebook and Twitter, adding the discussion, contributing your hard-earned money — helps make what we do matter.

Details after the jump.
