The election of Tom Perez for DNC Chair was a missed opportunity for the DNC & a major step forward at the same time

This past Saturday morning, the electors of the Democratic National Committee narrowly selected former Obama administration Labor Secretary Tom Perez to be their new Chair. It was a very close vote of 54-46%. The Michigan delegation all voted for Ellison in the second round of voting and only one person voted for someone besides Ellison in the first round. In […]

If you are an absentee voter in Michigan, PLEASE READ THIS!

A recent mailing from the Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) to absentee ballot holders mistakenly identified the County Clerk as the office to return one’s absentee ballot. THIS IS INCORRECT. Absentee ballots returned to the County Clerk cannot be counted. If you are returning your absentee ballot, deliver it by mail or in person to the City or Township Clerk who […]

DNC video highlights – Part 1, Mothers of the Movement, #FlintWaterCrisis, and more

As many of you know, I was a pledged delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this year supporting Sec. Hillary Clinton. If you watched the roll call vote, you might have even seen me on TV: LOL. But the DNC was no laughing matter. It was a four-day effort to re-educate America about the decades of work done […]

PHOTOS: A look back at the Democratic National Convention

DNC photo-extravaganza!

However, for those of you who were there, the timing of this photo post is probably just right giving you the weekend to catch up on sleep and email.

LOTS more photos after the jump.

Convention report: Day 1 – Watch the livestream here

The Eclectateam has landed

Anne and I have arrived at the Charlotte Convention Center and are attending an Obama campaign blogger briefing and we now have tonight’s schedule. Charlotte is a riot of activity and excitement. In addition to me being a delegate, Anne and I have DNC media credentials and have also gotten credentials to The PPL, a netroots-focused space. More information on that HERE.

In order to get our media credentials, we had to wait in line, get pre-credentials, wait in line again and the go through security then wait in line again and THEN we got our credentials.

My lanyard collection is getting silly:

If you’d like to watch to convention this evening online, you can do so after the jump and see highlights of this evening’s schedule, as well.

RNC dials back GOTV, DNC ramps UP thanks to OFA!

Cross-posted at Daily Kos. A Yahoo News Blog entry reports that the RNC is dialing back on its GOTV efforts due to a lack of funds. [T]he RNC has decided to end the long-standing practice of sending congressional staffers into hotly contested districts to make contacts with voters and assist the GOP’s midterm election efforts. A spokesman for the RNC […]

Democrats: More of this please

Democrats: More of this please

I first read about this over at Bob Cesca’s Awesome Blog! Go! and was pretty stunned. Seems they held a Republican strategy meeting at which a 72-page presentation was given that laid out their electoral strategy for the remainder of the year until midterms. What tactics will they use? Fear of Democrats of course! Seems some doofus left a copy […]
