DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to kick off Ann Arbor OFA Day of Action SATURDAY – YOU are invited!

Let’s roll!

This Saturday, June 30th, 2012, Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz will be in Ann Arbor to kick of a Day of Action canvass and phonebank for Obama for America (OFA), the campaign to re-elect President Obama.

Starting at 10:00 a.m., the event includes both phonebanking and canvassing and YOU are invited. Before things get started, Ms. Wasserman Schultz will speak to volunteers to let them know what is at stake this year and how important their role is in the 2012 campaign.

Lilly Ledbetter on the GOP War on Women: “Romney should understand this…is about families and economic security”

A veteran in the War on Women sets Mitt Romney straight

I was on a conference call today with DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Lilly Ledbetter, the namesake of the now-famous Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. The two women were speaking to reporters about the War on Women as Mitt Romney tours Pennsylvania and Virginia in this first week of the general election.

Ms. Ledbetter, a woman who has been through some of the major battles in the War on Women, has a few things she’d like to say to Mitt Romney.

Bwaahahahahahaa!!!

I just got DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s response to Mitt Romney crushing Newt Gingrich in Florida’s primary tonight. And it’s good. Very good.

But the best part? The preface that came before it from her media person Greg Greene:

Before I give you the Chair’s comments about tonight, it’s worth underscoring that Mitt Romney had the best victory a massive financial advantage can buy. When the ads on the air on your behalf outnumber those for your opponent by a factor of 65-to-1, we can put to rest any notion that you won because of grassroots passion for your ideas.…

The Republican “Path to Poverty”

Paul Ryan calls his new budget cause the “Path to Prosperity”. The new head of the Democratic National Committee, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (woo HOO!!!) calls it, appropriately, the “Path to Poverty”.

Mr. Chairman, I rise today in support of amendment number 4 which stops reckless and shameful cuts to senior and nursing homes. As a member of Congress representing a large number of seniors in south Florida, I can tell you that this budget would be devastating for seniors and older Americans.

This Republican Path to Poverty passes like a tornado through America’s nursing homes, where millions of America’s seniors receive long-term and end of life care.
