Blue Wave News update

As I blogged about before, the pragmati website Blue Wave News was hacked and taken down. Leanne from BWN has this update: No, the site isn’t dead – it’s resting. ;) Seriously, though, we are indeed working on getting back up and running, which should happen very soon. We may not have all the bells and whistles functioning at first, […]

So, about those ads…

You may have noticed that I have been playing around with ads on Eclectablog lately. I was banned from Google Adsense for some unknown reason so I tried out Chitika and Adbrite. After a month, I’ve earned a grand sum total of $3.45. Woo hoo. So, I’ve pulled them. There’s no point in inflicting useless visual garbage on Eclectablog readers […]

Photo from last night’s kOscar award ceremony

I just wanted to thank everyone again for their support that earned me the Daily Kos “Diarist of the Year” award. For those that missed the show, here’s a rare shot of me receiving my award: Hee, hee! I’m just sayin’…

And the award for Daily Kos Diarist of the Year goes to…

Um … me. Seriously, I have no idea how this happened but I actually won Diarist of the Year at Daily Kos (basically “Blogger of the Year” for non-Kossacks. Results HERE.) I would like to thank all of you who took the time to vote for me. I’m sitting here enjoying a celebratory martini letting this soak in. Wow. P.S. […]

Pragmati site Blue Wave News hacked, down

Our friend Leanne at Blue Water News reports the following: Blue Wave News has experienced a critical failure. It appears that someone hacked into the site and deleted all our content sometime early yesterday morning. Fortunately, we have access to our entire history of posts, but the full restoration will be tedious and time-consuming. In the meantime, we hope to […]

Eclectablog is in the running for Daily Kos Diarist of the Year

I am in the final round of voting (last nine) for the Daily Kos Diarist of the Year. If you are so inclined, you can vote for me HERE. You do not have to be a member of Daily Kos and if you voted for me in the 1st round, you may vote again. Thanks! I’m just sayin’…

Disqus commenting acting wonky

Disqus comments appear to be not loading for some reason. I have contacted Disqus and hope to have the problem resolved soon. Stay tuned… UPDATE: The issue appears to be related only mobile browsers and iPads. I haven’t tried it with non-iPhones, however. I’m not sure what happened because I can still view Disqus comments on other blogs and it […]

Eclectablog, now with DISQUS commenting!

Just a quick update to let you know that I have switched over from the old Blogger commenting system to Disqus. You don’t have to but you can sign up for a quick and easy (and FREE!) Disqus account. This will allow you to track your commenting on any Disqus comment-containing blog. I’m currently importing comments from the Blogger system […]

I have added an email subscription form in the sidebar in case you are interested in receiving updates when I add content. I’m not sure it’s working correctly so any feedback would be awesome. Thanks! I’m just sayin’…

Holiday road trippin’…

Mrs. E and I have road tripped down to St. Louis, MO to visit her family for the holidays so blogging will be light for the next few days. Drinking, however, will not. This morning we woke up to snowfall which is rather unusual for St. Louis so we’re going to enjoy a nice, white Christmas in the Lou. A […]

Eclectablog update

I’ve have some news that I thought I’d share with y’all. First, as I mentioned previously, I have added Google AdSense ads to the blog for which I receive a small sum when they are clicked. While I hate having ads as much you probably hate seeing them, bringing in a little revenue helps me to keep doing this and […]
