It’s not hard to ask for donations when the end result is Eclectablog

by

It’s interesting asking for donations. Even under the veil of a blog post, some believe that it is hard to do this, and it is. As a former candidate, and I will forever be a former candidate, I know how difficult a task this is. Whether it’s asking for money to run a campaign, or to keep my show on the air, or most importantly to keep Eclectablog running strong and free, it is critical that you make an effort to support the work of Chris and Anne Savage and the amazing team I get to work with on a daily basis, even if it is virtual. It is a good feeling to know that the people who I have the blessing to work with are highly regarded and very smart to boot!

The hard work and thoughtful effort that goes into each and every blog post is about making sure you have the information you need to make an educated decision. Some of that work is more opinionated and some of them are very much fact-based and afford you the opportunity to get access to information that the “mainstream” media may or may not deem as necessary. At Eclectablog, we do not make such judgments. We report and you do with it what you feel makes a difference for you. Find me a mainstream media source that does that for you! I mean a bona-fide media source that sincerely does that. You won’t be able to, to be honest, and from someone who reads dozens of media sources a day, this is something that I know.

fundraiser201520Please take a few moments right now to make a donation, even a sustaining donation, if you can afford it, because here, at Eclectablog, that matters. We like that we are supported from the ground up and we are extremely proud that the work that we do is supported by like-minded folks who want more from their information than a formulaic pattern that is a simple telling of the “facts” as they are known and supported by the corporate lords who mandate that reality, or whatever reality that is pushed upon them by their advertisers and those who form the basis of their profit sheets. So be it.

This is NOT Eclectablog and never will be.

Does your donation matter? Hell yes it does, and in ways that are both obvious and needed. Just a thought, but it is not that hard to ask for donations when you know that ever dollar sowed is a dollar that will make the difference between what you know and what you need to know and if you don’t know the difference, then you are not reading Eclectablog often enough, and you should. Try it and find out why.

Thanks for your consideration and thanks for wanting the truth. We do appreciate it a great deal.

There are several ways for you to contribute. First, you can make your donation using the PayPal form at the top of the right sidebar. You can choose which level of support you wish to give us from the dropdown box or choose a different level if you wish by using the “Other amount” box. The default is $60 which is basically $1 per week after the fees are taken out, a pretty good value. (There’s that number six again.)

Or you can wait until the TinyPass pop-up pops up (every tenth click on the site) and donate that way. If you do that, the popups will go away as long as you have cookies enabled. Like with the Paypal form, the default amounts for annual or monthly donations can be adjusted to whatever you wish them to be. They are currently set to be around $1 per week. Again, it’s a great value.

Finally, if you would prefer to send a check, send Chris an email and he’ll give you the address. This is the most beneficial way for us because it avoids the Paypal and Tinypass fees that are taken from contributions to the site.

If you work for an organization that would like to support our efforts by placing an ad, click HERE for our ad rates and more information.

By the way, you don’t have to be an organization to run an ad. Maybe you’d like to surprise your favorite progressive with a birthday message on Eclectablog or help promote your favorite group. Again, click HERE for more info.

If you cannot afford to support us financially, there are a couple of other ways that you can still help.

First, you can do you Amazon shopping through the Eclectablog page. Use the search box toward the top of the right sidebar to start your shopping. You can search for products directly from that box or click the “View more products on Amazon.com” link to go to the main Amazon page. If you order via that link, we get 4-6% of the cost of your purchase and it doesn’t cost you a thing.

Second, please share our content on your Facebook page or other social media like Twitter, Reddit, etc. Put a “Like” on our Facebook page and click the “Invite friends” button and encourage your friends to like us, too.

Thanks so much for your continued support,
Amy, Chris, Anne, LOLGOP, Tony, Emma, Judy, John, and Charles
