AUDIO: Eclectablog on The Majority Report with Sam Seder discussing Detroit’s bankruptcy

Hear ye, hear ye

I was on the Majority Report radio show with Sam Seder this afternoon. We discussed Detroit’s bankruptcy, the Education Achievement Authority, and other examples of the corporatist Republican takeover of Michigan.

You can listen to it here:

True story: the first time I met Sam Seder in person was when I got to Providence, Rhode Island for Netroots Nation two and half years ago. We had been driving for fourteen hours or more and as I was wearily unloading suitcases in front of the Biltmore Hotel, Sam walked by.

“Sam Stein!” I called out.

He gave me an odd look and kept going. About a half second later I realized my mistake, turned in my liberal card, and have been atoning for my transgression ever since. I am hoping that today’s radio “appearance” absolves me of that major liberal faux pas. Sorry Sam ; )

Chris, you did a fine job of making the Detroit and Michigan school situations intelligible to those who don’t live here, and you did it without sneering even once. But I share your cynical view of what’s happening in Detroit, what its being set up for, and I can’t stifle my sneers.
MI and WI are key to the Kochs’ plans for a church camp utopia because of our fresh water. Keep your eye on the lakes and waterways and bridges, old and yet to be built, and any tentative steps toward altering laws related to eminent domain and water and mineral rights.

    • I actually have a post coming up soon about the Great Lakes and how we may soon see Canadian tar sands crude being transported on them. You know that Koch Industries has a role to play in THAT.
