Forward (and south)

Anne and I are heading out this morning for the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina I am an alternate delegate for the Michigan caucus and we are both credentialed media for Eclectablog.

The list of speakers is impressive. Michelle Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Jimmy Carter (via video) and Bill Clinton are the ones I’m most excited about.

On Wednesday, I have been invited to a roundtable discussion with Governor Howard Dean and American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten with 10-12 other writers.

On Thursday, I’ll sit down with folks from Democracy For America (DFA) for an interview as part of their DFA Live Studio. You’ll be able to hear from all sorts of folks during the convention like Rep. Keith Ellison, Rep. Donna Edwards, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Sen. Jeff Merkley, Van Jones, Lizz Winstead, The Nation’s Ari Berman, Gov. Howard Dean. Learn more about that HERE. I’ll be on at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Anne, of course, will be shooting photos all week and we hope to be uploading images and reports throughout the week. I’m hoping to get the chance to interview some folks and certainly the networking should be outstanding. In the meantime, we leave the site in the capable hands of LOLGOP.
