New Obama campaign video shows how confused people are by “retroactively retired” Mitt Romney

It’s Retroactively Retired Man!

A Romney campaign spokesperson recently said that Mitt Romney had “retroactively retired”. But what, exactly does “retroactively retired” really mean?

The Obama campaign asked some folks what they thought it meant. The results are … um … humorous.

“What Does “Retroactively Retired” Mean?”

The campaign issued this statement with the video:

Unable to provide a coherent explanation for Mitt Romney’s role at Bain Capital from 1999-2002, his campaign is now arguing that he “retroactively retired.” But they fail to mention that he remained legally responsible for its actions during that period as well as compensated for both profits from Bain’s investments and his work as an executive. Between Bain-owned GS Industries filing for bankruptcy and SMTC Corp outsourcing jobs to Mexico, it’s no wonder Romney wanted to “retroactively retire.”

No wonder, indeed…

The last woman explained it perfectly–basically “retroactively retired” was R-Money’s way of saying “See, what had happened was…” or a way to shift responsibility from himself as the CEO, sole shareholder of Bain to….whom we don’t know.
