Three things:

First, I am continuing to get reports of folks’ antivirus programs sounding the alarm from my site. I have been trying out four new ad companies and one of them is the culprit. I have 86ed two of them but the problem may not be resolved yet. If you get any warnings from your antivirus software while you are visiting the site, please email me or tweet me so that I know I’m still having issues. I promise I will correct this as soon as I possibly can and apologize profusely for any inconvenience or hassle this has caused anyone. I feel bad enough about having ads on the site but to have one of them messing with my readers’ computers is particularly galling. Arrrrgghh. Thanks for your patience while this gets resolved.

Second, I am happy to announce that I have been asked to write for MyFDL, the community blogging site for Firedoglake.com. I realize this will come as a HUGE shock and surprise to some of you. However, MyFDL offers wide-ranging opinions and, apparently, they are interested in mine. I’m in pretty good company with the likes of Robert Greenwald (not Glenn, calm down), Bill Egnor and Jill Richardson to name just a few. If all goes well, you will be seeing my work on the front page of MyFDL from time from here on out.

Like today, for example.

This is one of over a half dozen requests I’ve gotten in the past week so I’m having to pick and choose where I am providing material, particularly since none of them are, as yet, paying me anything (I’m starting to sound like a money-grubbing bastard, aren’t I?) MyFDL gets twice as many hits per day as I do in a month so it’s a good way for me to get some notice. I have this dream of someday being part of the Professional Left, don’tchya know ;)

Finally, I have updated the copyright statement at the bottom of my blog. In the past, I have allowed folks to reprint my material as long as they credited me. I am not restricting that as follows:

All original content on this website is copyrighted © Eclectablog/Chris Savage.

Unless otherwise specified, permission to excerpt portions of my work is given as long as you provide a link back to my website and I am credited.

Why am I doing this? Because I found out some dude jerk thought it was okay to lift no less than 67 of my pieces from here and at Blogging for Michigan to use on his site and, to add insult to injury, listed me as one his contributing bloggers. I have, of course, sent him an email requesting that he remove my content from his site. Fer cryin’ out loud…

That’s it for now. I return you to your regularly scheduled blog reading.

I’m just sayin’…
