82 Detroit bus drivers called in sick to join the protest rally in Lansing today

by

Over 80 bus drivers in Detroit got the “flu” today so they could join the We Are the People protest rally happening at the Capitol building in Lansing.

Extra delays of 30 minutes or more for city bus riders will be the norm today after more than 80 Detroit Department of Transportation drivers called in sick to join protests in Lansing against Gov. Rick Snyder’s proposed budget cuts, officials said this morning.

By late morning, 82 drivers had called in sick, reducing capacity for the city’s buses to 80%, DDOT Director Lovevett Williams said at the city’s Rosa Parks Transit Center, where some riders complained about delays, but many others said they supported efforts to fight back against cuts that could reduce city services including transit.

Guess they’re pretty sick of Rick Snyder and the Republicans, eh?

I’m just sayin’…
