I Know You Are But What Am I???

by

Senator McCain finally admitted today that Senator Obama did not call Sarah Palin a pig.

Then when he was asked about his LIE that Governor Palin had never asked for any earmarks as governor (she asked for $200 million worth, actually), his response? That Senator Obama had asked for more.

Notice that diversion? Doesn’t address the fact that he lied. He basically just admits it but does it by saying the equivalent to a petulant child saying, “I know you are but what am I, huh?”

Nevermind that Obama’s state has about 12 times the number of people. 12 x $200 million is $2.4 billion so, on a per capita basis, Obama’s $900 million earmark request last year means he actually asked for way less. Also, just for the record, unlike Senator McCain, Senator Obama isn’t running on a “end all earmarks now and forever ’cause they’re EEEEEEE-VIL” platform.

By the way, just for the record, earmarks are 3% of the total budget. Eliminate every single one and you still will barely make a dent.

I’m just sayin’…
