The McCain Tax Lie

by

Let’s just get this straight because the McCain campaign can’t seem to tell the truth about much of anything regarding Senator Obama:

“If you are a family making $250,000 or less, we will not raise your taxes,” he said. “Not your income tax. Not your payroll tax, not your capital gains tax. Not any tax. We will cut your taxes. So I’m happy to have a debate about taxes with John McCain.”
Senator Barack Obama, July 7, 2008

Also:
* Obama will create a new “Making Work Pay” tax credit of $500 per person/$1,000 per working family.
* Obama will eliminate all taxation of senior citizens making less than $50,000 a year. 27 million American seniors will not need to file an income tax return.

If you make more than a quarter million dollars per year, yes, you might see a tax increase as President Obama leads Congress to roll back the tax breaks the Bush administration put in place that are bankrupting our country in a time of “war”. For the rest of us, the bulk of the American citizenry, we’ll see tax relief.

And I’m totally cool with that.

I’m just sayin’…
